| Sweet Corn Festival Schedule of Events
10:00 am: Canning Class and Q&A
Janice Robins, Penn State Master Food Preserver and Dawn Olsen, Penn State Extension Educator will offer a half hour presentation and Q&A on canning and preserving the summer’s harvest, with a focus on sweet corn. There will be free gifts (compliments of Ball Canning Jars Discover you CAN program) and free accuracy checks for dial-type pressure canners. Canning enthusiasts are encouraged to bring the lid of their pressure canner for a gauge check!
10:00 am: Corn Shucking Contest
How many ears of corn can YOU shuck in 3 minutes? Children’s’ corn challenge followed by adult challenge. Prizes awarded for highest number of ears shucked in designated time.
10:00 am: – Noon: Live bluegrass music featuring Last Small Town
11:00 am Market Chef Demonstration & Sampling
Chef Adam Walker of Porters’ Pub will offer a one hour cooking demo featuring fresh sweet CORN as his key ingredient.

The menu will include:
- Fresh sweet corn and cilantro arepitas with marinated goat and a grilled corn and pablano salsa.
- Fresh grilled chicken breast in a curried corn sauce.
- a chili and lime butter for grilled corn
- Corn and Cheddar dip with corn tostada chips & Easton salsa companies tomato salsa
- Corn broth and Corn and crab chowder
All those attending the demo will receive samples and recipes.
