What is it? AGRI ART is 3-dimensional fruit and vegetable artwork. This quirky competition fosters imagination, creativity and fun for both participants and the viewing public.
How does the competition work? The competition takes place in Centre Square on Saturday, September 13th. Artists may enter the “arena” with their supplies when the gates open at 9 A.M and may begin building their sculptures.
Judging will begin at 12 Noon. All sculptures must remain until 1 P.M. when the market closes.
Who may enter? The competition is open to kids from 7 to 97. Area artists, culinary whizzes and school teams are encouraged. No prior experience is required. Competition will be in the following categories.
Adult - Individual & Team of 2 or 3
College Student- Individual & Team of 2 or 3
Kids (ages 12-18) Individual & Team of 2 or 3
Kids (ages 6-11) (Parental Assistance Permitted)
Professional (chefs, florists and artists)
2-D Artwork: Best Adult (16 and over)*
2-D Artwork: Best Child (ages 6-15)* PRIZES will be AWARDED IN ALL CATEGORIES
How much does it cost? No fee is charged for competition entry. Each entrant or team will be assigned one-half of a 6 foot table. Contestants are responsible for providing their own supplies and produce.
TABLE SPACE IS LIMITED.
ONLY PRE-REGISTERED ENTRANTS ARE GUARANTEED A TABLE.
RULES
- Entries must be at least 75% fresh produce
- it is permissible to use flowers, leaves, brush, grasses and other living foliage.
- It is permissible to use wire, wood, glue, tape and plastic to form a base for the sculpture or secure it.
- Entrants must provide their own supplies
*2-D Art Division
Artists can submit previously created 2-dimensional artwork featuring fruits and/or vegetables. Submit: Drawings, Paintings or Photographs.
All artwork must be mounted or framed and able to be easily displayed. Please include name, address, phone and email with all 2-D artwork submissions. Two Prizes will be awarded for best 2-D Artwork: Best Adult (16 and over) Best Child (ages 6-15). Please deliver ALL artwork to Centre Square no later than 9:00am on Saturday September 13th.
